Laura Williams is a working artist who has held many creative jobs in various streams of visual communication. She has built props for Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus and Saturday Night Live and also developed proprietary digital content for AT&T. She has made costumes that have graced the stage of the Guggenheim Museum and built dioramas for the American Museum of Natural History. She was the art director for Algonquin Young Readers from 2013-2023 and responsible for both cover and interior design. Before that she worked in Algonquin Books' art department on covers, marketing and promotional materials, and ads.
Laura Williams received her BFA from the University of Vermont and attended Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Her work has been published in Taiwan and Spain and her artwork has been shown in North Carolina, New York, Massachusetts, Colorado and Virginia.
